MOGADISHU, Somalia (AA) – Reports from southern Somalia said three people were killed when al-Shabaab militants attacked a home in the Middle Shebelle region Thursday night.
The attack in the Jowhar District village of Biyo-Ade also wounded several people, police said.
Ahmed Maire Makaran, a Middle Shebelle regional official, told Anadolu Agency a father and son were among the dead.
He also said government forces reached the village after the incident, adding that Somali police were conducting an operation.
This latest violence comes after al-Shabaab fighters lost control of more districts following Somali military operations backed by African Union forces.
