GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Three Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire east of Gaza City on Monday in the latest Israeli violation of the ceasefire agreement, a medical source told Anadolu.
Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in eastern Gaza City received three wounded Palestinians, describing the condition of one of them as serious.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces opened fire toward homes and displacement tents east of Gaza City early Monday.
They said naval units also targeted fishing boats off the city’s coast, but no injuries were reported.
Artillery shelling also hit northwestern Rafah in the southern strip, as well as areas in the Bureij refugee camp of the central strip, and Beit Lahia in the north.
The US-backed ceasefire has been in place in Gaza since Oct. 10, halting Israel’s two-year offensive that has killed more than 72,000 people, most of them women and children, and injured over 171,000 others since October 2023.
Despite the truce, Israeli forces have committed hundreds of violations through shelling and gunfire, killing 615 Palestinians and injuring 1,651 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
