ANKARA (AA) - Turkish security forces Wednesday killed three PKK terrorists in southeast Turkey, provincial officials said.

In a statement, the Sirnak governor’s office said the trio were killed in ongoing operations in Gurvil, which lies close to the Iraqi border in the mountainous Uludere district.

No further details were released.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU. More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since it resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
