3-time Russian Olympic wrestling champion Buvaisar Saitiev dies at 49

'It's hard to wrap my head around,' says Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF) president Mikhail Mamiashvili

ANKARA (AA) — Three-time Russian Olympic wrestling champion Buvaisar Saitiev died at 49 in Moscow, the Russian state news agency TASS reported Sunday.

"It's hard to wrap my head around," said Mikhail Mamiashvili, president of the Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF), describing the incident as a "disaster."

Saitiev bagged three gold medals in Men's freestyle 74 kilograms at Atlanta 1996, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympics respectively.

The Moscow-born athlete also has six world championship titles.
