VAN, Turkey (AA) - A total of 37 undocumented migrants were held in Turkey's eastern Van province on Sunday, provincial gendarmerie command said in a statement.
Gendarmerie forces checked a parked minibus in Tusba district over suspicion, the statement said.
The statement said that 37 Afghan nationals who entered Turkey via illegal ways were found inside the minibus and were detained.
The driver of the minibus was arrested, the statement added.
Turkey has been a main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
