ISTANBUL (AA) - A Russian overnight drone attack hit a residential building in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy, killing four people and injuring nine others, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed on Thursday.

Emergency crews continue to remove debris and conduct rescue operations at the site, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Specialized equipment is being used to dismantle damaged structures and remove large concrete slabs.

Zelenskyy, in a statement on Telegram, condemned the attack as a "horrible tragedy" and a "terrible Russian crime," urging the international community to keep the pressure on Russia over such attacks.

Rescue efforts continue as authorities assist those affected.
