Suspects were planning sensational attacks

ISTANBUL (AA) - At least four people have been arrested over suspected links to the PKK terror group in Istanbul, according to security sources on Tuesday.

Istanbul police arrested the suspects in simultaneous operations at various locations after receiving a tip-off that senior PKK leaders provided financial support and instructions to the terror group youth wing to carry out sensational attacks.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
