BINGOL, Turkey (AA) - Turkish security forces on Sunday killed four terrorists and captured another in eastern Bingol province, according to the provincial governor’s office.

In a statement, Bingol’s Governor Office said the operation was carried out in the Catak village in Karliova district. Two M-16 rifles, three Kalashnikovs and a laptop were also seized.

The PKK -- recognized as a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU -- has taken thousands of lives in decades of attacks in Turkey, including 1,200 since July 2015 alone when it resumed its armed campaign against the Turkish state.
