Two suspects remanded in custody following major drug bust

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish security forces seized hundreds of thousands of illegal ecstasy drug pills following a major operation in Istanbul, according to a statement by the provincial security directorate.

The anti-narcotics teams acted upon a tip off and confiscated 464,200 ecstasy pills before they were released in the market, the statement said.

As part of the investigation, security officials raided an address in Eyupsultan district and arrested three suspects. Also, 4 grams of heroin were confiscated by anti-drug units.

Two of the suspects were remanded in custody and one was released on probation.
