ISTANBUL (AA) - A strong 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s Tanimbar Islands in Maluku province early Saturday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake took place in Pulau Tanimbar at 6.20 am (2120GMT Friday) and originated from a depth of 27 kilometers (16.7 miles).
There were no immediate reports of damage.
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck south of Indonesia’s Java Island on Friday, which damaged buildings and caused injuries to 36 people.
