VAN, Turkey (AA) - Five people were arrested in Turkey’s eastern Van province for their alleged links to the PKK terrorist group.
In a statement, the governor’s office said gendarmerie teams' efforts are ongoing to unveil PKK/KCK terror group's activities.
At least five suspects were arrested for "aiding and abetting the terrorist group" and for being "member of armed terror group."
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of at least 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian offshoot.
