KARS, Turkey (AA) - Turkish jets killed five PKK terrorists and injured two others during a counter-terrorism operation in northeastern Kars province on Thursday, according to a regional governor.
The operation was launched in Sesveren Valley in the province’s Kagizman district at around 6.30 a.m. local time (0330 GMT), Kars Governor Rahmi Dogan told Anadolu Agency.
The injured terrorists managed to escape, Dogan said. The land and air operations are ongoing to catch those terrorists, he added.
Last month, eight terrorists were also neutralized in another operation in the same region.
