BAGHDAD (AA) – At least five Iraqi soldiers were killed on Friday in a “shooting incident” west of capital Baghdad, according to the Defense Ministry.
In a statement, the army vowed to investigate the incident, details of which remain unclear.
According to the ministry, another soldier in the same unit is suspected of having carried out the murders.
According to an Iraqi security source who spoke to Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity, both the slain soldiers and the assailant belong to the Iraqi army’s Sixth Brigade.
