53 irregular migrants held in eastern Turkey

Suspect who allegedly organized illegal travel of migrants taken into custody

BITLIS, Turkey (AA) - A total of 53 irregular migrants were held in eastern Turkey, local authorities said on Tuesday.

The gendarmerie captured the irregular migrants in Bitlis during a regular traffic control in the town of Adlicevaz, the provincial governorate said in a statement.

A suspect who allegedly organized the illegal travel of the migrants was taken into custody.

The irregular migrants will be transferred to the provincial migration office.
