ANKARA (AA) - A strong 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the east coast of Japan's Hokkaido prefecture early Monday with no tsunami warning, local media reports said.
The earthquake occurred at 3.52 a.m. local time (1852GMT Sunday) at a shallow depth, measuring 4 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in areas like Taiki and Urahoro, public broadcaster NHK reported, citing the Japan Meteorological Agency.
No injuries or damage to property were reported.
This was the second earthquake to hit the region in two days.
A 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit Hokkaido on Saturday afternoon.
