ISTANBUL (AA) – A strong earthquake shook Philippines on Thursday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or a tsunami warning.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the 6.3 magnitude quake jolted central Batangas province in the Calabarzon region on Luzon Island.
With a depth of 119 km, the earthquake struck the archipelago nation, 15 km southwest of Calatagan, at around 10:19 a.m. local time (0219GMT).
At least seven more tremors of low intensity were felt after the earthquake.
