ISTANBUL (AA) - Sixty-five students in central India were hospitalized after consuming a lunch that contained a dead lizard, according to Mathrubhumi News.
The primary school students were discharged from the hospital Friday after being admitted Thursday in the Balrampur-Ramanujganj district of Chhattisgarh state.
A girl noticed the lizard in her meal while eating and alerted her caretaker.
But by the time the lizard was discovered, dozens of children had already consumed the food, according to officials.
The students were immediately instructed to stop eating and were taken to the hospital.
Many children experienced vomiting, nausea and stomach aches shortly after the meal.
