ANKARA (AA) - Seven irregular migrants died in a shipwreck off the coast of the southern Italian island of Lampedusa, local media reported Wednesday.
According to the Italian news agency ANSA, victims included four women, with one of them pregnant.
At least 46 irregular migrants were rescued and nine are still missing, according to survivors’ testimonies, ANSA also reported.
Some 256 migrants arrived at Lampedusa overnight with four different boats, in addition to 136 migrants that arrived on the island Tuesday.
