ANKARA (AA) – At least nine suspects were into custody late Saturday in drug trafficking operations across Turkey, according to police.
Anti-drug police raided various addresses in Istanbul, Izmir, Diyarbakir and Kayseri and seized more than two tons of marijuana including skunk -- a good quality marijuana --and 70 kilograms of bonzai -- a form of synthesized marijuana classified as the most dangerous drug in Turkey.
The street value of the drugs was nearly 20 million Turkish liras ($6.5 million), police said.
