ISTANBUL (AA) - At least nine people were injured in a stun grenade explosion at an Interior Ministry vocational training center in the Russian Republic of Komi, state media reported on Thursday.
“Today, nine people were injured in a stun grenade explosion at the Ministry of Internal Affairs' vocational training center in Syktyvkar,” Russian state news agency RIA reported, citing the region’s Health Ministry.
The ministry said that four of those injured are in critical condition, adding that 200 people were evacuated from the building after the explosion, noting firefighters also extinguished a fire that broke out following the blast.
It said that eight of the injured people were hospitalized, and that the blast occurred during training of personnel.
The regional Investigative Committee separately told RIA that an investigation has been opened into the blast, adding that investigators and forensic experts are working at the scene.
