AC Milan extends Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract for another year

Swedish forward will continue to wear No. 11 shirt, says club statement

ANKARA (AA) - AC Milan on Monday said they extended striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract for another year.

"AC Milan is pleased to announce the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract until June 30, 2023. The Swedish forward will continue to wear the number 11 shirt," the Italian Serie A club said in a statement.

The 40-year-old has played for many clubs including Malmo, Ajax Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and LA Galaxy. He scored 492 club goals in 814 matches during his career.​​​​​​​

He won league titles in the Netherlands, Italy, France, and Spain, and helped Manchester United bag the 2017 UEFA Europa League trophy.

Ibrahimovic tallied 62 goals in 121 international caps for his native Sweden. He represented Sweden in the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cup tournaments.
