DAMASCUS / ISTANBUL (AA) - Burhan Koroglu, Türkiye’s acting charge d'affaires in Damascus, on Thursday visited Syrian Defense Minister Murhef Abu Kasra.

“During the meeting Lt. Col. Hasan Goz, Military Attaché of our Embassy, presented to the (defense) minister ways to develop cooperation between the two countries in the military field,” the Turkish Embassy in Damascus said on X.

After being closed for years due to the Syrian Civil War, the Turkish Embassy in Damascus reopened last December after the fall of the decades-long Assad regime.

Ahmed al-Sharaa was appointed Syria's president in January for a transitional period.
