ISTANBUL (AA) - Afghanistan's interim Trade Minister Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi held talks with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday in New Delhi to strengthen bilateral trade relations.
The two sides "discussed ways to strengthen our trade, connectivity, and people-to-people ties," Jaishankar said through the US social media company X.
New Delhi also "reiterated" its support for the "development and welfare of the people of Afghanistan," he added.
The Afghan Industry and Commerce Ministry said on X that the discussion points included Chabahar Port in southern Iran, trade networks between Afghanistan and India, and visa issues.
The bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached $890 million last year.
Azizi's trip to New Delhi is the second high-profile visit by any Afghan Taliban official after interim Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi paid a week-long visit to India last month.
