Ailing Kuwaiti toddler's 1st steps with Turkish help

Turkish hospital helps 18-month-old Tala Alajmi, who has cerebral palsy, takes her first steps in life

KOCAELI, Turkey (AA) – After four months of treatment at a Turkish hospital, a toddler from the Gulf state of Kuwait who suffers from cerebral palsy managed to take her very first steps.

At just 18 months old, Tala Alajmi Tala, the second child of Rashed and Muna Alajmi, had been prevented from walking by cerebral palsy.

Wanting their daughter to be able to walk, the Alajmis sought help from a hospital in Izmit in Turkey’s northwestern Kocaeli province.

Now the couple is pleased and proud that Tala was able to successfully take steps after four months of treatment.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, the girl’s mother Muna Alajmi thanked the Turkish doctors for treating and helping her daughter take her first steps in life.
