ADANA, Turkey (AA) - A Turkish court remanded an alleged member of an al-Qaeda terror group member in custody in southern Turkey, according to a security source on Monday.

Anti-terror police teams in the southern Adana province launched an operation to nab the suspect, identified by the initials O.K., after uncovering that he had received bomb and arms training in Syria for a year and a half, and illegally returning to Turkey, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspect was arrested at his address in the Imamoglu district and remanded by the court he was referred to.

His brother, M.K., also took part in clashes in Syria among terrorist ranks, the source added.
