ALGIERS, Algeria (AA) - Algerian Chief of General Staff Said Chengriha and British Armed Forces Minister James Heappey discussed military relations between their two countries Sunday.
A statement from the Algerian Ministry of Defense said that Chengriha met with Heappey in the capital, Algiers.
It said they discussed the state of military cooperation between the armies of the two countries and ways to improve it.
The parties also discussed the security problems facing the African continent and Chengriha exchanged views with his British counterpart on areas of common interest.
"Such activities and negotiations offer an important opportunity to reach the aimed level of cooperation between the Algerian and British armies," the statement quoted Chengriha as saying.
