Anadolu Agency begins diplomacy journalism training

International participants from 8 different countries to receive training in Turkish capital

ANKARA (AA) - Anadolu Agency has introduced a diplomacy journalism training program for participants from Central Asia and the Caucasus.

The two-week program was launched Monday in capital Ankara in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Anadolu Agency's News Academy.

Journalists from Ukraine, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Mongolia will get 78 hours of practical and theory lessons till Feb. 16.

The program will teach journalists foreign policy, diplomacy and energy-related topics so that they are able to report on changes in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

Diplomacy reporting, photography and interview techniques will also be addressed during the program.

Participants will also be introduced to Anadolu Agency’s Asia-Caucasus publications.

The training will be offered mainly in Russian while some lessons will be provided with simultaneous Russian translation.

At the end of the program participants will be awarded certificates.

The program includes visits to TIKA, the Foreign Ministry, the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities.
