ANKARA (AA) - Anadolu Agency is here with a rundown of the latest developments around the world.

Turkish officials announced that two Greek Coast Guard boats opened fire on a ro-ro ship 18 kilometers (11 miles) off Türkiye's northwestern coast off Bozcaada.

After learning about the incident, during which no one was injured, the Turkish coast guard dispatched two boats and the Greek boats left the area.

Turkish National Defense Ministry shared damning video of Greece’s illegal pushbacks of irregular migrants.

“On September 9, 2022, a Turkish Navy UAV detected irregular migrants being transferred to an inflatable boat and pushed back towards Turkish territorial waters by a Greek Coast Guard boat off Bodrum,” it said on Twitter.

Deputy Foreign Minister Faruk Kaymakci reiterated that Ankara's only wish in the Balkan region is "really a lasting peace, stability.”

Ankara does not "discriminate" against anyone and invests in and helps all in the region, he added.

Nataliya Gumenyuk, the head of the Press Service of Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces, announced that the counter-offensive against Russian forces advanced for "dozens of kilometers" on the southern frontline.

Turkish Airlines became “the world’s biggest network carrier” in terms of seat capacity on international routes in August, according to the Turkish flag carrier.

Accordingly, the airline increased its seat capacity by 14% in August compared to 2019 and the number of passengers on flights in July and August topped pre-pandemic levels, reaching 7.8 million.

Britain’s Charles III was formally proclaimed king at the Accession Council in London’s St James’s Palace.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres visited flood-battered areas in Pakistan and urged the international community to act swiftly to assist Islamabad in dealing with the devastation caused by torrential rains and massive flooding.
