ISTANBUL (AA) – Tralleis, an ancient city in southwestern Türkiye, traces its roots back to its establishment by the Thracians and Argosians.

Following its capture by Alexander the Great in 334 B.C., Tralleis experienced frequent transitions of power among the post-Alexander Hellenistic kingdoms.

Situated within the Aydin province, the ancient Gymnasium, also known as the three eyes, stands out as a significant structure within the city with its distinctive arches and columns.

Throughout its existence, the Gymnasium has witnessed many periods, and remains one of the leading structures of antiquity in terms of education, sports, and culture.
