ISTANBUL (AA) - The UK's annual inflation rate was 3.8% last month, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) announced on Wednesday.
The inflation rate was consistent with market expectations in August, remaining unchanged from July.
Consumer prices increased by 0.3% month-on-month in August, as they did in July.
The ONS said airfares were the most significant contributor to inflation in August.
Core inflation, which excludes energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco, rose by 3.6% in August.
