ISTANBUL (AA) - Another Indonesian migrant worker died in hospital after a shooting involving the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) in Malaysia's Selangor state last month, Indonesian media reported on Thursday.
The man died on Tuesday while being treated for his critical condition at a hospital in Malaysia, Jakarta-based Antara daily reported, citing a senior official from the Protection of Indonesian Citizens who did not reveal the victim's identity.
“Two persons died,” the daily quoted Judha Nugraha as saying.
Earlier, the government had received the body of Basri, an Indonesian killed on the same day as the shooting incident on January 24.
These two deceased migrants were among five Indonesians shot by Malaysian maritime security forces while allegedly attempting to flee Malaysia illegally via the waters of Tanjung Rhu, Selangor.
Judha noted that two other Indonesians, with the initials HA and MZ, have since recovered, while another, MH, is still hospitalized for further treatment.
Jakarta has asked for an investigation into the incident.
