Argentina's consumer inflation rises 7.4% in July, highest in 2 decades

Consumer prices increase 71% on annual basis, according to data from national statistics agency

ANKARA (AA) - Consumer inflation in Argentina rose 7.4% in July on a monthly basis, the country's national statistics agency INDEC announced on Thursday.

This was the highest monthly inflation rate for the Latin American country in two decades.

The figure was an increase from the 5.3% monthly gain recorded in June.

Annually, consumer inflation increased 71% in July from the same month of last year.

Consumer prices in June had risen 64% year-on-year.
