ANKARA (AA) - Major stock markets in Asia closed with gains on Monday, after disappointing US employment data increased expectations that the Fed will maintain stimulus.
The US economy added 586,000 jobs in August, the fewest jobs in seven months amid concerns over Delta variant of the coronavirus, the Labor Department announced on Friday.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, gained 29.3 points, or 0.74%, to close at around 4,014.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange climbed by 531.8 points, or 1.83%, to 29,660.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, posted an increase of 261.64 points, or 1.01%, to 26,163.
China’s Shanghai stock exchange was up 40.12 points, or 1.12%, to 3,622 points.
