ISTANBUL (AA) - Asian stocks closed Monday mostly with gains thanks to easing commodity prices and positive developments in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Representatives from Russia and Ukraine met in Istanbul last week and agreed to reduce military actions in the cities of Kyiv and Chernihiv.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, earned 28.57 points, or 0.79%, to close at around 3,658 points.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange was up by 70.49 points, or 0.25%, to 27,736.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, increased 462.76 points, or 2.1%, to 22,502.
China's Shanghai Stock Exchange rose 30.51 points, or 0.94%, to 3,282 points.
The Indian Sensex benchmark was up, rising 1,335 points, or 2.25%, to close at 60,611 points.
The Singapore index, however, lost 2.14 points, or 0.06%, to 3,416.
