ANKARA (AA) - Major Asian stock markets rallied at Tuesday's close, fueled by expectations over a slowdown in the US Federal Reserve's rate hike after weak manufacturing data.

The Institute for Supply Management reported on Monday that US manufacturing PMI unexpectedly fell to 50.9 in September, the lowest figure since May 2020.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, jumped 2.43% to 2,878.4.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange surged 2.96% to 26,992.2.

The Indian Sensex benchmark gained 2.25% to 58,065.5.

The Singapore index rose 1.02% to finish at 3,138.9 on Tuesday.

Chinese markets are closed due to a Golden Week holiday and there was no trading at Hong Kong markets to mark a national day.
