ISTANBUL (AA) - Most major Asian stock markets were up at Tuesday's close, except Japan.

Japan's unemployment rate rose to 2.6% in October, while retail sales were above the expectations by increasing 4.3% on a yearly basis.

Meanwhile, Beijing's removal of the funding ban from stock markets, which had been in effect since 2009 for the construction industry, increased the risk appetite.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, was up 1.44% to 3,216.70 points, while Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 lost 0.48% to reach 28,027.84.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, was up by 5.24% to 18,204.68 points.

China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange rose 2.31% to close at 3,149.75, while the Indian Sensex benchmark increased 0.28% to 62,681.84 points.

The Singapore index gained 1.12% to 3,276.36.
