HATAY/AYDIN, Turkey (AA) - Turkish security forces held at least 100 irregular migrants in Friday's operations, according to security sources.
Gendarme forces held 87 migrants of Syrian nationals in Turkey's border province of Hatay, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
In a separate operation in the western Aydin province, 13 Afghan migrants who were trying to cross to Greece were held by police.
Two people were remanded on suspicion of human trafficking.
All migrants were sent to the local immigration authority.
Turkey has been the main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
