PARIS (AA) – French police on Tuesday arrested at least a dozen of suspects for damaging a Lafarge factory last year, according to media reports.

In December 2022, climate activists targeted the factory near Marseille, southern France, blaming it for pollution, said daily 20 Minutes.

Prosecutor of Aix-en-Provence launched an investigation right after the incident, the daily reported.

The ecologist group Les Soulevements de la Terre deplored the arrests "in several towns."

The climate activists who targeted the factory published a video of their action. They were wearing all white and attacked the surveillance cameras by hammers and cables by hatchets, according to 20 Minutes.
