ATHENS (AA) - A demonstration in support of Palestine was held Wednesday in Athens that demanded an end to Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip and the Greek government take a stronger stance in favor of Palestine.
Protesters gathered at Syntagma Square in front of the parliament building, following a call by various parties, unions and organizations. They expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Chanting slogans such as "Freedom for Palestine," demonstrators demanded an immediate halt to Israeli assaults.
Criticizing the government's policy on Palestine, protesters carried banners and demanded that officials take a firmer pro-Palestinian position.
