ANKARA (AA) - Australia is considering announcing its intention to recognize Palestine as early as Monday, SBS News reported, citing a "high-level" government source.
The Cabinet is set to meet in Canberra with the expectation that it will sign off on Palestinian statehood.
France has already announced its intention to recognize Palestine at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York in September, while the UK has moved to support recognition of Palestine if Israel fails to meet a series of conditions.
Canberra is expected to follow the same timeline as France to recognize Palestine at the UN in September.
