MELBOURNE, Australia (AA) - Australia’s top Catholic cardinal was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison on charges of sexual assault.
George Pell, 77, was convicted of sexual assaulting two boys in 1996 and 1997 during his time as cardinal in a Melbourne cathedral.
Pell was first accused of the charges in 2017.
