BERLIN (AA) - Exit polls in Austria forecast that the anti-Islamic Freedom Party (FPO) will become second-largest party in parliament, winning 26.8 percent of the vote in Sunday’s election.
An exit poll by public broadcaster ORF showed the center-right Austrian People's Party (OVP) leading with 30.5 percent, followed by the FPO, and the Social Democratic Party (SPO) projected to get 26.2 percent.
ORF’s exit poll gave the center-right OVP 57 seats, while the far-right FPO was projected to get 51 seats, followed by the SPO with 49 seats.
