JERUSALEM (AA) – Bahraini Ambassador to Israel, Khaled Yousef al-Jalahma, on Tuesday presented a copy of his credentials to Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

“On my way to present my letter of credentials. What a wonderful coincidence to have this event mark the first anniversary of the Abraham Accords,” the envoy wrote on Twitter.

“I’m so proud that we took this brave step last year to work hand-in-hand towards peace, security and stability in the world,” al-Jalamah said.

Last month, al-Jalahma arrived in Tel Aviv to assume his duty as the Gulf state’s first ambassador to Israel.

In September 2020, Israel and Bahrain signed an agreement to normalize diplomatic relations under a US-sponsored agreement.
