Wolfsburg eliminate Arsenal on Monday, winning tie 5-4 on aggregate

ANKARA (AA) - An extra-time winner by Pauline Bremer on Monday sent Wolfsburg to the 2023 UEFA Women's Champions League final in which the German club will take on Spain's Barcelona in June.

In the semifinals' second leg, Wolfsburg beat Arsenal 3-2 after extra time in London as the visitors' forward Bremer, 27, scored the winning goal at the last gasp to take her club to the final in the Netherlands' Eindhoven.

Stina Blackstenius and Jen Beattie scored for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Jill Roord and Alexandra Popp were the scorers for Wolfsburg before Bremer's winner in the 119th minute.

Wolfsburg eliminated Arsenal, after winning the tie 5-4 on aggregate.

Barcelona will play Wolfsburg on June 3 at Eindhoven's Philips Stadium, the home of Dutch club PSV.

Wolfsburg are now into their sixth Champions League final and will look for their third title. The German team last won it in 2014.

Barcelona secured the Champions League once in 2021. They were the 2019 and 2022 runners-up.

France's Olympique Lyon are the record holders with eight titles.
