Basketball: Los Angeles Clippers sign two NBA stars

LA Clippers sign 2019 NBA finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George

ANKARA (AA) - The NBA team Los Angeles Clippers acquired two basketball stars, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, on Wednesday.

Clippers said on Twitter that they signed the 2019 NBA finals' Most Valuable Player (MVP) Leonard and the Oklahoma City Thunder (OKC) small forward George.

Last season, Leonard, 28, helped the Toronto Raptors to win their first ever NBA title in their history. Leonard's contract with the Raptors ended this summer.

The U.S. media said that the Clippers will pay $103 million for Leonard for three seasons.

One of the integral parts of the Raptors last season, Leonard averaged 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the 24 playoff games in 2019 for the Canadian franchise.

Leonard was named the NBA All-Star three times in his career.

A six-time All-Star, George spent the last season in the OKC.

During the 2018-2019 NBA season, George averaged 28 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.2 steals.
