Premier League leaders Liverpool end week with win; La Liga leaders Real Madrid draw 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano

Bayer Leverkusen in German Bundesliga, Inter Milan in Italian Serie A and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in French Ligue 1 cemented their top positions in their respective leagues.

English Premier League leaders Liverpool ended the week with a win while Spanish La Liga leaders Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano.

- Leverkusen's undefeated Bundesliga run continues

German Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen ended the week with a win, while their closest pursuer Bayern Munich suffered a defeat.

Bayern Munich lost 3-2 to Bochum at away, while Bayer Leverkusen beat Heidenheim 2-1 in another away game.

Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen, which continue to lead the league undefeated, increased the point gap between themselves and Bayern Munich to eight and came one step closer to ending Bayern Munich's 11-year Bundesliga championship streak.

Thomas Tuchel's Bayern Munich have suffered their third defeat in eight days, after losing to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and to Lazio in the UEFA Champions League.

Bayer Leverkusen are at the top of the Bundesliga with 58 points, Bayern Munich are second with 50 points and Stuttgart are third with 46 points.

- Premier League leaders Liverpool defeat Brentford 4-1

English Premier League leaders Liverpool defeated Brentford 4-1 at away in week 25.

Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo netted goals for the Reds in the match in which Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, who was injured during the Africa Cup of Nations, returned to the game with a goal and an assist.

Arsenal, one of the contenders, beat Burnley 5-0 at away, while defending champions Manchester City took a hit on the title road by drawing 1-1 with Chelsea.

Liverpool have 57 points after this win, Arsenal are in the second spot with 55 points and Manchester City are in the third spot with 53 points with one more game to play.

- Real Madrid draw 1-1 with Vallecano

Spanish La Liga leaders Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano at away in the week 25 match.

Turkish international Arda Guler came on for Luka Modric in the 87th minute, while Real Madrid forward Dani Carvajal was sent off with a red card in the 95th minute.

Barcelona defeated Celta Vigo 2-1 with a goal scored from a penalty kick in the final minutes of the match.

Real Madrid, which got their fifth draw this season, continued to lead the standings with 62 points.

Girona, which will face Athletic Bilbao at away on Tuesday, are placed second with 56 points, while Barcelona are in the third spot with 54 points.

- Inter strengthen their position at top

Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan strengthened their position at the top as their closest pursuer Juventus settled for a draw.

Inter defeated Salernitana 4-0 to stay on top with a 9-point difference in week 25.

Juventus, the closest follower of the leaders, drew 2-2 with Hellas Verona at away.

Milan, placed 3rd in the league, lost vital points on the way to the championship with a 4-2 defeat to Monza.
With these results, Inter is at the top of the league with 63 points, Juventus has 54 points and Milan has 52 points.

- Ligue 1 leaders PSG increase point difference with Brest to 13

In the French Ligue 1 week 22, leaders PSG beat Nantes 2-0 at away and increased the point difference with their closest pursuer, Brest, to 13.

Nice, one of the contenders, lost 1-0 to Olympic Lyon at away and fell to the third spot, while Brest, on the other hand, defeated Olympique Marseille 1-0 and moved up to the second spot.

PSG with 53 points lead the standings, while Brest with 40 points placed second and Nice are in the third spot with 39 points.
