ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye’s benchmark stock index BIST 100 closed Wednesday at 9,266.09 points, down 1.36% or 127.70 points from the previous close.
The index opened the day at 9,369.37, a drop of 24.42 points from Tuesday’s closing level.
During the session, the index ranged between a low of 9,245.26 and a high of 9,398.67.
Out of all tracked indices, 88 declined, while 11 posted gains.
The daily transaction volume totaled 90.7 billion Turkish liras (approximately $2.37 billion), with the total market capitalization of the BIST 100 reaching 8.41 trillion liras ($221.4 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.1325 as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 43.5715, and the British pound traded at 50.4395.
The price of an ounce of gold was $3,318.20, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $65.25.
