IZMIR, Turkey (AA) - An explosion occurred Thursday morning in the country’s western province of Izmir, injuring at least eight people, a police source said.
The blast occurred near a garbage dumpster in Buca district when a prison shuttle bus was passing through the area, the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, told Anadolu Agency.
The explosion also damaged the shuttle bus and nearby vehicles.
The street, where explosion occurred, was closed to traffic, while the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
No information has yet been provided about the nature of the blast.
