BEIJING (AA) – An explosion tore through a residential building in northwest China on Monday, injuring several passers-by.
Cars and buildings near the site in the city of Yulin in Shaanxi province were reported to have sustained heavy damage, with multiple people injured.
State news agency Xinhua reported that some people suffered head injuries and were rushed to hospital.
Witnesses reported seeing several people covered in blood, according to witnesses.
The Huashang newspaper cited local residents as saying that the incident "might be related to unlicensed storage of explosives".
