ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,439.62 points on Friday, down 0.02% or 0.24 points from the previous close.
At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.67% to 1,439.86 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.5350 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 8.5230 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 9.9730 from 9.9650, while one British pound traded for 11.6280 Turkish liras, down from 11.6790.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $66.73 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
